Keeping your most private possessions is meant to stay safe. You put them in a safe and lock them away. You create a password and a code. You feel that’s enough. You are hoping that this will be the deterrent for someone to break in and get your items.


The digital space and physical space have many similarities. Hackers want to get access to what you have. The more advanced your security system gets, the more advanced a hacker becomes. If they want to find a way they will. Using the tools and technology to gain access.

What are some of the basic ways that you can deter hackers from attacking your system, let's take a look. Using a password that will include as many characters that the key longing will allow. Keeping things simple, anywhere from 16 to 32 characters is a great start to your defense method.


Using letters, capital letters, numbers and special characters will give your system more protection. This will help deter hackers and hacker systems from gaining access to your accounts and personal data.


It’s vital that when creating passwords that you do not use the same one for each account. Especially when it comes to your most private data and information. Creating random passwords with random characters is a great way to keep your accounts and systems safe.

Writing your passwords down can be a good idea. Keeping the password you wrote down next to the computer is a bad idea. When you write that password down, put the password in a notebook and keeping that notebook in a safe spot would be best.


The key is not to lose the notebook you put your password in. If your notebook gets stolen your account or system has the potential of getting hacked.


Another great way to keep your account safe is to use multi factor authentication.This is an application that allows another layer of security.
