A flowchart is a diagram that displays a process, system or computer algorithm. A flowchart is used in many industries to help with the flow of a process. This flow documents a process for a plan, study, improvement and communicating a complex process. A flowchart helps clarify or make a process easier to understand a diagram.
A flowchart uses different shapes such as rectangles, oval, diamonds and many more shapes to identify the steps that are being connected in a process. The steps are connected with arrows that define the sequence of steps within the process or system. When creating a flowchart you can draw on a piece of paper or use some type of software on a computer or a tablet.
